Located off the 199 by Cave Junction, Oregon, these caves have called to my for years. Each time I drove by I told myself I had to visit. Finally we made the drive up to the visitor center and took the 1.5 hour guided hike through the caves, complete with geological and human history. While there were many stairs and some really low ceilings, anyone in reasonable health would have no problem.
Exiting the cave there were two ways back to the visitor center, a .3 mile direct walk and a .7 mile walk to the top of the cliff for a great view before heading back down. We took the longer way. Above all the 45 degree cave was a welcome relief from the summer heat.
